The Opportunity:
As a School Business Manager, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth running of the academy. This role is vital in managing financial, personnel, and estate matters, and requires a proactive, team-oriented individual who can work effectively under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee financial operations, including budgeting, payroll, and expenditure.
- Coordinate and supervise personnel management, including staff appointments, training, and performance reviews.
- Oversee estate management, ensuring the maintenance and efficient use of school facilities.
- Collaborate with the Head Teacher, Senior Management, and the Trust’s Chief Finance Officer to support strategic objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, financial, and safeguarding requirements.
- Develop and implement policies that support the school’s operational and educational goals.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the school’s mission by ensuring all administrative functions align with its values and vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of financial and administrative procedures.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in managing budgets and financial records.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar organisation.
- Knowledge of educational legislation and best practices.
- Experience with school management systems and software.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
