The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to ensure the security and maintenance of the school site during evening hours. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the school and requires a candidate who is reliable, responsible, and willing to contribute to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the security and safety of the school site by locking up and checking all areas each evening.
• Maintain the school site and report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with the preparation and clear-up of occasional evening events.
• Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding by adhering to all security protocols.
• Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities where possible.
• Follow all procedures for the safe and secure management of the site.
• Communicate effectively with other staff members and report any concerns or incidents.
• Ensure all areas are left in a tidy and orderly condition at the end of each shift.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in a caretaker or similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
• A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
• The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional events.
• A valid driving license and access to a car (essential for site coverage).
• A good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A willingness to follow all security protocols and safeguarding policies.
