The Opportunity:
As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting and supporting the health and wellbeing of students and staff. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment that values compassion, integrity, and rigour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid and medical support to students, staff, and visitors throughout the school day.
- Monitor and assess the general health of students to identify potential health issues that may affect learning.
- Administer prescribed medications and manage medical records in accordance with school policies.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.
- Advise staff on health-related matters prior to school trips and events.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming medical centre.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues in a sensitive and professional manner.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance clinical and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Registered general nurse with valid qualifications and current professional registration.
- Prior experience working with children in a professional setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and manage a varied workload.
- Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and health education.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or healthcare setting with children.
- Knowledge of child development and health promotion.
- Experience with administering medication and managing medical records.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in educational environments.
