School Support Worker needed to help pupils thrive in a supportive learning environment.

The Opportunity:

As a School Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. You will support pupils in achieving academic and personal goals while fostering strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils’ learning and engagement in line with their individual needs
  • Encourage pupils to achieve personal and academic goals through positive reinforcement
  • Promote positive behaviour and social-emotional development
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and structured school environment
  • Assist in delivering a differentiated curriculum tailored to pupil needs
  • Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support professionals

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above, or ability to demonstrate equivalent skills
  • Strong spoken and written English
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Calm, compassionate, proactive approach
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or SEN setting
  • Understanding of autism, SEMH, or trauma-informed practice
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally
