The Opportunity:

As a Science Key Stage Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing the quality of science teaching and learning. This is an opportunity to lead and support the development of science resources, improve teaching practices, and contribute to the academic success of students across a specific Key Stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and improve the quality of science teaching resources and equipment.
  • Identify and implement areas for improvement in science education.
  • Strengthen literacy and numeracy opportunities within the science curriculum.
  • Support the planning and delivery of science trips and science club activities.
  • Track and develop science practicals in line with schemes of work.
  • Provide line management support to science staff.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s educational vision and values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student engagement and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in science education at Key Stage 3 or 4.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
  • Commitment to raising educational standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or resource coordination.
  • Familiarity with OfSTED standards and school improvement strategies.
  • Experience in line managing staff.
  • Knowledge of science practicals and their integration into the curriculum.
