The Opportunity:
As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Science curriculum by managing practical resources and facilities. You will provide expert assistance and advice to ensure the successful delivery of Science lessons. This role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic and innovative educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the use of practical resources and facilities across the Science curriculum.
- Provide expert support and advice to Science teachers and students.
- Maintain and manage laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure safe and effective use.
- Assist in the development and implementation of practical Science activities.
- Support the Head of Science and Team Leader Science Technician in delivering Science education.
- Prepare and organize materials for Science lessons and experiments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in Science laboratories.
- Collaborate with other departments to support cross-curricular initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualification in Science or a related field.
- Experience in a Science laboratory or educational setting.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Preferred
- Experience with Chemistry or other Science subjects.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a school or educational environment.
- Willingness to support other areas of the curriculum as required.
