The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Science Teacher and KS3 Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role offers the chance to lead and inspire students while contributing to the development of the Science department. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
- Coordinate and oversee the planning and implementation of the KS3 Science curriculum.
- Support and mentor other Science teachers to ensure consistency and excellence in teaching.
- Monitor student progress and provide targeted support to help students achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s curriculum and pedagogical approach.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Transformation Curriculum, including Friday afternoon activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and values.
- Experience in curriculum development and coordination.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or coordinating a department.
- Familiarity with the Transformation Curriculum or similar enrichment programs.
- Experience with educational research and curriculum innovation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in working with diverse student groups and supporting student achievement.
