Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum for England and GCSE standards.
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate modern teaching techniques and technology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student progress, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including science fairs, competitions, and community-based projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, ensuring timely feedback and communication with parents.
  • Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and peer collaboration.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor’s degree in Science with PGCE / PGDE (or equivalent qualification)
  • Proven experience teaching Science to GCSE level
  • Exemplary teaching practice and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proven track record of delivering outstanding learning and teaching

Preferred

  • Experience with international education systems
  • Familiarity with computational thinking and STEM-based teaching
  • Experience with extra-curricular and community-based initiatives
  • Leadership experience or interest in pursuing leadership roles
