Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum for England and GCSE standards.
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate modern teaching techniques and technology.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student progress, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, including science fairs, competitions, and community-based projects.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, ensuring timely feedback and communication with parents.
- Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and peer collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor’s degree in Science with PGCE / PGDE (or equivalent qualification)
- Proven experience teaching Science to GCSE level
- Exemplary teaching practice and a passion for continuous improvement
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A proven track record of delivering outstanding learning and teaching
Preferred
- Experience with international education systems
- Familiarity with computational thinking and STEM-based teaching
- Experience with extra-curricular and community-based initiatives
- Leadership experience or interest in pursuing leadership roles
