Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of science education.
  • Support extracurricular activities and science-related events to enhance student engagement and interest in the subject.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance, ensuring compliance with school policies.
  • Stay up to date with developments in science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate, contributing to their overall well-being and success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and a valid teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at the secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science, with the ability to teach across key stages.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to science department initiatives or curriculum development.
  • Experience with using technology in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Involvement in extracurricular science activities or STEM initiatives.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
