Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Theology and Philosophy at both Key Stage 4 and 6.
- Encourage critical thinking, debate, and independent learning among students.
- Develop and implement a broad and balanced curriculum that meets academic standards.
- Support students in preparing for A-level and IB examinations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental teaching and learning strategies.
- Participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the pastoral care of students.
- Stay up to date with developments in the subject area and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Theology, Philosophy, Religious Studies, or related field).
- Ability to teach Sixth Form content, including A-level and IB syllabi.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for inspiring and engaging students in philosophical and theological inquiry.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred
- Previous teaching experience, particularly in independent or selective schools.
- Experience with A-level or IB curriculum delivery.
- Interest in co-curricular and pastoral responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the wider life of the school.
