Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that inspire and engage students.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student learning and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of Science education across the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Participate in the school’s continuous professional development programme.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and events.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusion, diversity, and safeguarding.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science and education practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A suitable degree and UK-recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE) or the ability to obtain this by the start date.
  • Proven experience as a Science Teacher with a strong understanding of Science curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively and create an engaging learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

  • Specialism in Physics.
  • Experience with teaching in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Experience in continuous professional development and leadership in teaching and learning.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
