Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the music curriculum across all key stages.
  • Deliver high-quality music lessons that inspire and engage students.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic and creative outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Organise and lead extra-curricular music activities and events.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity and excellence in music education.
  • Work with external partners and organisations to enhance music provision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in music.
  • Experience in teaching music at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and achievement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a music department or subject area.
  • Knowledge of music technology and its application in teaching.
  • Experience in delivering music at Key Stage 5.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices and pastoral care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
