The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Psychology and Sociology Teacher to join a successful and passionate department. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers or ECT1/2 teachers to make a meaningful impact on student learning and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Psychology and Sociology, engaging students of all abilities.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student progress and achievement.
- Contribute to the development of the department’s curriculum and resources.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, promoting their personal and academic growth.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback.
- Support the school’s Catholic mission and ethos in all aspects of teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
- Relevant subject knowledge in Psychology and Sociology.
- Experience in teaching at Key Stage 4 and 5.
- Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with ECT support or mentoring.
- Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
- Experience with inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience with assessment and feedback strategies.
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and IT-rich environments.
