The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Psychology and Sociology Teacher to join a successful and passionate department. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers or ECT1/2 teachers to make a meaningful impact on student learning and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Psychology and Sociology, engaging students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student progress and achievement.
  • Contribute to the development of the department’s curriculum and resources.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, promoting their personal and academic growth.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback.
  • Support the school’s Catholic mission and ethos in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Relevant subject knowledge in Psychology and Sociology.
  • Experience in teaching at Key Stage 4 and 5.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with ECT support or mentoring.
  • Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience with assessment and feedback strategies.
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools and IT-rich environments.
