The Opportunity:

As a Science Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students and driving academic success. This position offers the chance to teach Science up to A Level and contribute to a dynamic and supportive Science team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including GCSE and A Level.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that align with the National Curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous improvement in Science education.
  • Manage and assess student progress effectively, ensuring all pupils meet or exceed their potential.
  • Support the planning and organisation of school trips and visits that enhance the learning experience.
  • Engage with students, parents, and the wider community to promote the importance of Science education.
  • Stay up to date with current research and developments in Science and teaching pedagogies.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to high achievement through the development of policies and practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Honours degree or equivalent in a Science-related subject (2:2 or above).
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Proven experience as a classroom practitioner with a passion for teaching Science.
  • Ability to teach Science up to GCSE and A Level standards.
  • Full working knowledge of the National Curriculum in Science.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Chemistry as a separate GCSE and A Level subject.
  • Experience working within a large Science team and fostering collaboration.
  • Knowledge of extra-curricular activities, particularly in Sport and Performing Arts.
  • Experience in pastoral care and supporting student well-being.
