Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated Science curriculum to students of all abilities
  • Foster an engaging and stimulating learning environment that promotes independent and collaborative learning
  • Ensure the use of high-quality resources and teaching strategies to support student progress
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly to inform teaching and learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental standards and practices
  • Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of Science-related initiatives and events
  • Support the school's mission and values, including a commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school policies and professional standards

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science or a related subject
  • Proven experience in Science teaching, either as a newly qualified or experienced teacher
  • Strong knowledge of Science curriculum and assessment practices
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons that promote student enjoyment and progress
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives
  • Experience with teaching Science to students aged 11-16
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in Science teaching
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
