Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated Science curriculum to students of all abilities
- Foster an engaging and stimulating learning environment that promotes independent and collaborative learning
- Ensure the use of high-quality resources and teaching strategies to support student progress
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly to inform teaching and learning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental standards and practices
- Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of Science-related initiatives and events
- Support the school's mission and values, including a commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school policies and professional standards
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science or a related subject
- Proven experience in Science teaching, either as a newly qualified or experienced teacher
- Strong knowledge of Science curriculum and assessment practices
- Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons that promote student enjoyment and progress
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Preferred
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives
- Experience with teaching Science to students aged 11-16
- Familiarity with the use of technology in Science teaching
- Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
