The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic Science Department as a Science Technician (Biology), supporting the delivery of science education across multiple levels. This role offers a chance to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to a school that values innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of the science curriculum across Lower School, AQA GCSE, and A level.
- Maintain and manage laboratory equipment and resources to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
- Assist with the preparation of experiments and practical work for science lessons.
- Collaborate with other science technicians and teachers to deliver a cohesive and high-quality science program.
- Provide technical support across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics as part of a ‘One Science’ approach.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all laboratory settings.
- Keep accurate records of equipment, consumables, and laboratory usage.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of science teaching and learning through collaboration and professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant qualification in science or a related field.
- Experience in a science laboratory environment or similar technical support role.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or supporting science education at secondary level.
- Familiarity with AQA GCSE and A level Biology curricula.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and consumables management.
- Previous experience in an educational setting.
