The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic Science Department as a Science Technician (Biology), supporting the delivery of science education across multiple levels. This role offers a chance to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to a school that values innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the science curriculum across Lower School, AQA GCSE, and A level.
  • Maintain and manage laboratory equipment and resources to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Assist with the preparation of experiments and practical work for science lessons.
  • Collaborate with other science technicians and teachers to deliver a cohesive and high-quality science program.
  • Provide technical support across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics as part of a ‘One Science’ approach.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all laboratory settings.
  • Keep accurate records of equipment, consumables, and laboratory usage.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of science teaching and learning through collaboration and professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant qualification in science or a related field.
  • Experience in a science laboratory environment or similar technical support role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting science education at secondary level.
  • Familiarity with AQA GCSE and A level Biology curricula.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and consumables management.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting.
