The Opportunity:

As a Science Technician, you will support the delivery of practical science and ADT lessons across the main school site and a new ARP in Haringey. This role is essential for maintaining a safe and effective learning environment and ensuring the smooth operation of the Science and ADT Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate equipment and materials for practical lessons
  • Assist in lessons and provide demonstrations as required
  • Support teachers in planning practical activities
  • Manage stock, purchase materials, and monitor budgets
  • Train staff and students in the safe use of equipment
  • Maintain risk assessments and ensure compliance with health & safety procedures
  • Oversee safe storage, handling, and disposal of materials, including hazardous waste
  • Keep accurate departmental records in line with statutory requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to health and safety standards
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Clear communication with staff and students

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of science and ADT equipment and procedures
  • Experience with risk assessments and health and safety compliance
