As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the science department by ensuring laboratory equipment and resources are well-maintained and available for teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage science equipment, consumables, and laboratory resources to ensure they are safe and functional.
- Support the science department with practical lessons, demonstrations, and experiments.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of science equipment and materials for teaching and learning activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all science-related activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement practical science activities that enhance student engagement and learning.
- Monitor and report on the condition of science equipment and recommend replacements or repairs as needed.
- Support the delivery of science curriculum and extra-curricular science activities.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and inventory levels.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in science or a related field.
- Experience in a science laboratory environment or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in a science context.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting student learning and achievement.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of current science curriculum and teaching approaches.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and maintenance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
