As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the science department by ensuring laboratory equipment and resources are well-maintained and available for teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage science equipment, consumables, and laboratory resources to ensure they are safe and functional.
  • Support the science department with practical lessons, demonstrations, and experiments.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of science equipment and materials for teaching and learning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all science-related activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement practical science activities that enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of science equipment and recommend replacements or repairs as needed.
  • Support the delivery of science curriculum and extra-curricular science activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and inventory levels.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in science or a related field.
  • Experience in a science laboratory environment or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in a science context.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to supporting student learning and achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of current science curriculum and teaching approaches.
