The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and innovative Science Technician to join a dynamic and supportive team. This role offers the chance to contribute to a progressive learning environment, where the impact of your work directly supports student engagement and achievement in science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of science lessons and experiments across key stages
  • Maintain and manage science equipment, consumables, and laboratory environments
  • Assist in the preparation and organisation of practical science activities
  • Provide first aid support to students and staff as required
  • Collaborate with science teachers to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of science curriculum resources
  • Uphold the school’s values of inclusion, diversity, and excellence in all aspects of work
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in science laboratories

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a science-related role, preferably in an educational setting
  • A good working knowledge of science equipment and laboratory procedures
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid first aid qualification
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience working with young people in a school environment
  • Knowledge of current science curriculum and teaching approaches
  • Experience in developing and delivering practical science activities
  • A background in education or a science-related field

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary within Scale 4
  • 36 hours per week, 45.05 weeks per year
