The Opportunity:

As a Second in Maths, you will support the leadership and continued development of the Mathematics department, driving high-quality teaching and learning and raising student achievement. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher looking to take the next step in leadership within a supportive and values-driven school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Maths in driving high-quality teaching and learning across the department.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the strategic direction of the Mathematics department.
  • Model excellent classroom practice and support colleagues in developing effective teaching strategies.
  • Deliver intervention and enrichment opportunities to deepen students’ mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, high expectations, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the achievement of excellent outcomes for all students, particularly the most disadvantaged.
  • Contribute to the wider life and Catholic ethos of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Mathematics.
  • Strong subject knowledge and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Experience in supporting departmental leadership and curriculum development.
  • Commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for all students.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
  • Experience with intervention and enrichment programs.
  • Experience in a Catholic school or with a strong understanding of Catholic values.
