The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a lifelong love of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students aged 11 to 16, with a focus on GCSE preparation.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student engagement and progress.
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s leadership specialism and character development programme.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Support students through pastoral care and mentorship, contributing to their overall well-being.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the school’s leadership programme.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience of delivering high-quality teaching that leads to positive student outcomes.
  • Ability to teach to GCSE standard.
  • Proven track record in achieving sustained improvements in student attainment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing creative and innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience working in a school with a leadership specialism.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
