The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Biology Teacher to join its dedicated Science Department. The role involves teaching Biology at KS3, IGCSE, and A Level, and contributing to a dynamic and innovative learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biology to students aged 11–18 at KS3, IGCSE, and A Level (or equivalent) with a focus on student achievement and engagement.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of Science Department policies, syllabuses, and schemes of work.
  • Use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and set clear targets for improvement.
  • Liaise with the Learning Support Team to ensure appropriate support for students with exceptional needs.
  • Participate in meetings and professional development to support continuous growth and improvement.
  • Take on a pastoral role as a Form Tutor and contribute to student wellbeing and development.
  • Support cross-curricular initiatives and provide opportunities for students to apply scientific knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience and a passion for teaching Biology at KS3, IGCSE, and A Level (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of teaching Science using the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum for England (or equivalent).
  • Strong ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with school policies.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching other sciences up to IGCSE level.
  • Familiarity with international curricula and assessment standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology in the classroom effectively.
