Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality EAL lessons that support student learning and achievement.
  • Create engaging and inclusive learning environments that encourage language development and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate EAL strategies across the curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback.
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities and wider campus life.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in EAL teaching and incorporate technology to enhance learning.
  • Support students in developing resilience, a growth mindset, and strong character strengths.
  • Work closely with parents and other stakeholders to ensure student success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of a B.Ed. or B.A. & PGCE with QTS.
  • Relevant EAL qualification such as TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA.
  • Proven experience in mainstream teaching, with a strong academic background.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to developing and inspiring students to succeed.
  • Ability to use technology effectively in the classroom.

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula such as IGCSE, A Levels, or IB.
  • Familiarity with Positive Education (PosEd) principles.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology integration.
  • Strong involvement in extra-curricular activities and school community initiatives.
