The Opportunity:

A Secondary Humanities and Social Science Teacher is needed to inspire students and deliver high-quality education in a vibrant, multilingual setting. The role involves teaching a range of subjects including TOK, Philosophy, Social Science, Geography, History, and Global Politics, with a focus on the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a variety of humanities and social science subjects to secondary students.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking and creativity.
  • Support students through personalized learning and differentiation in the classroom.
  • Act as a tutor to students, providing academic and pastoral guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative and inclusive curricula.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Utilize ICT tools and educational apps effectively in teaching.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of fostering independent thinkers and global citizens.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English and able to teach in authentic English.
  • Experience in teaching humanities and social science subjects.
  • Strong ICT skills with knowledge of Mac, iPad, and educational apps.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
  • Experience with TOK, Philosophy, Social Science, Geography, History, and Global Politics.
  • Familiarity with the Spanish ESO / Bachillerato curriculum.
  • Knowledge of Catalan and/or Spanish.
  • UCAS / D of E experience.
