The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary Humanities Teacher to deliver History up to GCSE and Social Studies across KS3/4. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal development in a school that values teacher well-being and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in History and Social Studies to students across KS3/4.
  • Foster a caring and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and academic success.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that align with the National Curriculum.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and maintain high standards of teaching.

  • Stay up to date with educational trends and best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Participate in staff development and professional training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A B.ED or degree with a PGCE or equivalent, along with exceptional subject knowledge in Humanities.
  • Proven experience in teaching History and Social Studies at the secondary level.
  • A strong commitment to student well-being and academic progress.
  • Experience in creating a positive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school’s community.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering GCSE-level History.
  • Background in working within a British curriculum school.
  • Experience with diverse student populations and cultures.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support programs.
