The Opportunity:

As a Secondary Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality science education to students at Key Stage 3 and teaching Physics up to I/GCSE. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective science lessons to Key Stage 3 and Physics up to I/GCSE.
  • Foster a caring and supportive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic progress.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and curricula.
  • Support and mentor students, ensuring they achieve their full potential academically and personally.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in science education and pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A B.ED or degree and PGCE or equivalent with strong subject knowledge in Science.
  • Proven experience in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student well-being and academic achievement.
  • Experience in contributing to the wider life of a school.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching General Science and Physics up to I/GCSE.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum.
  • Experience with international students and multicultural environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience.
