The Opportunity:

As a Secondary Science Subject Lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Science department and driving high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment. This is a key middle leadership role that combines teaching with strategic oversight across multiple programs, ensuring strong student outcomes and a progressive curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
• Teach across Middle School and High School Diploma and/or IBDP
• Oversee curriculum design aligned with US standards and IB frameworks
• Use data to monitor progress and drive improvement
• Lead, coach, and develop Science staff
• Ensure safe and effective lab operations and compliance with health & safety
• Contribute to whole-school priorities and enrichment programs
• Maintain strong communication with parents and the wider community

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Education (with teaching qualification)
• Valid teaching certification meeting local requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience, including experience in High School Diploma and/or IBDP
• Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and effective teaching practices
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in an international, multicultural environment

Preferred

• Experience with curriculum leadership or departmental management
• Familiarity with IB frameworks and assessment practices
• Experience with data-driven instruction and improvement
• Experience in leading professional development for teachers
