The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality, inclusive education tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to create a safe and nurturing learning environment where students can make meaningful academic, social, and emotional progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate teaching for individuals and small groups in line with the school curriculum and policies
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, using outcomes to inform planning and next steps
  • Develop, implement, and review individual education, behaviour, and support plans in collaboration with colleagues
  • Create a stimulating, well-organised learning environment that meets the needs of all students
  • Promote students’ physical, educational, social, and moral development in line with school values
  • Manage and support challenging behaviour, encouraging self-regulation and independence
  • Coordinate teaching, assessment, recording, and reporting across agreed subjects and key stages
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK QTS or equivalent, with a relevant degree
  • Strong understanding of SEN, including ASC, learning difficulties, and complex needs
  • Experience working with students who have autism and complex needs
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who may have faced significant challenges

Preferred

  • Experience with individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning
  • Experience in a school environment with a focus on autism-specific education
