The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, personalised education to students with Special Educational Needs. You will lead and inspire a team of Teaching Assistants, ensuring consistency and excellence in support across all classroom activities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, meaningful learning experiences for individuals and small groups of students
  • Monitor and celebrate student progress in line with EHCPs and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Implement AAC tools and communication strategies to support student expression and participation
  • Support students’ wellbeing, personal development, and independence
  • Manage and positively address challenging behaviours in a constructive and supportive manner
  • Build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and external agencies
  • Maintain high standards in safeguarding, assessment, and record-keeping

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • A genuine passion for working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • A proactive, reflective approach to teaching and personal development

Preferred

  • Experience with AAC tools and communication strategies
  • Experience in managing and transforming challenging behaviours
  • Experience in creating and delivering individualised learning plans
