SEND Middle Leader role in Upper School. Lead curriculum and support staff to deliver exceptional outcomes.

The Opportunity:
As a SEND Middle Leader, you will shape the strategic direction of the Emerald Pathway, mentoring staff and ensuring the delivery of an innovative curriculum that supports pupils’ development and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and enhance the Emerald Pathway in the Upper School to ensure a creative and cohesive curriculum.
- Model high-quality teaching and provide real-time coaching to support staff.
- Use specialist frameworks to assess and celebrate pupil progress.
- Ensure a positive impact on the educational outcomes of pupils in the Upper School.
- Collaborate with support staff, families, and specialists to create inclusive learning environments.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional learning and development.
- Implement and review the "Plan-Do-Assess-Review" cycle to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Support the school’s mission of inclusivity, nurturing, and inspiration.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant experience in a SEND environment.
- Proven track record in mentoring teachers and leading curriculum projects.
- Expertise in alternative communication methods such as Makaton and PECS.
- Proficiency in using specialist assessment frameworks.
- Experience working with students with complex learning needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, and profound and multiple learning disabilities.
- Commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience in middle or senior leadership roles.
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation.
- Experience with Continuing Professional Learning and leadership training programs.
