The Opportunity:
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the learning experiences of students with additional needs. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a supportive and collaborative team, delivering personalised education that empowers students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons aligned with the school curriculum
- Monitor, assess and celebrate student progress regularly
- Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour plans, and learning pathways
- Create a safe, structured, and motivating classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with support staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to curriculum planning and whole-school development initiatives
- Organise resources and learning materials that promote student engagement
- Ensure all activities are planned with pupil safety and risk management in mind
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a primary or secondary teaching qualification
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create and deliver personalised learning plans
- Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
Preferred
- Experience working with students with SEMH, communication and interaction difficulties
- Familiarity with behaviour management strategies
- Experience with evidence-based teaching approaches
- Confidence in working with multidisciplinary teams and external professionals
