Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with autism and complex needs in the classroom and across various learning environments
- Assist with individual and group learning activities, adapting to each pupil’s needs
- Collaborate with teachers and therapists to develop and implement learning plans
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all pupils
- Provide care and support to ensure the wellbeing and emotional development of pupils
- Communicate regularly with colleagues, families, and other professionals to support pupils’ progress
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of pupil progress and support provided
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children with additional needs
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and families
- Calm, caring, and resilient personality with a commitment to supporting children with autism
Preferred
- Experience working with children with autism
- Adaptability to work across classroom, sensory, and outdoor learning environments
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Strong understanding of child development and behaviour support strategies
