Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with autism and complex needs in the classroom and across various learning environments
  • Assist with individual and group learning activities, adapting to each pupil’s needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to develop and implement learning plans
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all pupils
  • Provide care and support to ensure the wellbeing and emotional development of pupils
  • Communicate regularly with colleagues, families, and other professionals to support pupils’ progress
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of pupil progress and support provided

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with additional needs
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and families
  • Calm, caring, and resilient personality with a commitment to supporting children with autism

Preferred

  • Experience working with children with autism
  • Adaptability to work across classroom, sensory, and outdoor learning environments
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Strong understanding of child development and behaviour support strategies
