Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the educational needs of pupils
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a purposeful learning environment
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies and procedures
  • Create and maintain a supportive and orderly classroom environment that helps overcome barriers to learning
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning through a range of assessment strategies
  • Adopt a flexible approach to meet the diverse needs of students, including participation in physical activities
  • Contribute to school meetings and management systems to support the overall functioning of the school
  • Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils have equal opportunities to learn and develop
  • Safeguard the welfare of children and staff within the school

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Empathy and patience for working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour
  • Ability to solve problems and manage/modify the behaviour of children
  • Organized, flexible, and resilient with a good sense of humour
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred

  • Experience in special or mainstream education settings
  • Familiarity with speech and language therapy or early intervention strategies
  • Experience in working with children with complex needs
