The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver a highly personalised and inclusive education for pupils with additional needs. You will create engaging learning experiences that support academic progress and emotional development, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure each pupil's needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour plans, and EHCP targets to support each pupil’s learning.
  • Plan and teach differentiated lessons across the National Curriculum, using visual supports, sensory strategies, and assistive technology.
  • Track, record, and report on pupil progress, preparing documentation for annual reviews and contributing to whole-school priorities.
  • Apply trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to support pupils with complex needs, promoting emotional regulation and independence.
  • Collaborate with support staff, therapists, care teams, and parents to ensure consistency between school and home.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and ensure compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND, specifically managing emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Preferred

  • Experience in adapting SMSC and British Values for pupils with varying cognitive levels
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with vulnerable pupils and their families
  • A calm, caring nature with high expectations for the personal growth of every child
