The Opportunity:

As an MFL Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students to achieve incredible things in French and other languages. You will contribute to curriculum development and support students across Key Stages 3 to 5, with opportunities to expand into new languages such as Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach MFL across Key Stages 3 to 5, with a focus on French and potential expansion into other languages.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that align with the planned curriculum and national standards.
  • Plan and prepare engaging and effective lessons that promote student achievement.
  • Contribute to the development and design of the MFL curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving their potential through data-informed teaching and intervention.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure innovative and creative teaching practices.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral support and guidance to students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching MFL across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge in French and a willingness to teach other languages.
  • Ability to use assessment data to monitor and support student progress.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of ambition, kindness, resilience, and respect.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within MFL.
  • Familiarity with Spanish or other modern foreign languages.
  • Experience in teaching Key Stage 5 students.
  • Background in working with students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
