We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher KS2/3 to join our team and make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students working below age-related expectations.
- Plan and implement a broad and balanced curriculum that supports academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Supervise and guide teaching assistants, contributing to their professional development.
- Ensure the implementation of school policies, including safeguarding and equality of opportunity.
- Monitor and support the well-being and personal care of students, communicating concerns to relevant professionals.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and promote confidence and self-esteem.
- Collaborate with pastoral, clinical, and SEND support teams to ensure holistic student support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience in delivering outcomes for students with special educational needs.
- In-service training and evidence of professional development.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and its adaptation for SEN students.
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum.
Preferred
- Experience with therapeutic and life skills-based teaching approaches.
- Knowledge of visual teaching methods and strategies for engaging reluctant learners.
- Experience managing students with anxiety and diverse learning needs.
- Creativity and flexibility in delivering individualized learning plans.
