The Opportunity:

As a SIMS Administrator, you will play a key role in managing the school's SIMS information management system, ensuring accurate recording and organisation of student data. This position is essential for maintaining compliance with GDPR legislation and supporting the school's reporting needs through the use of SIMS and other external databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the administration of the school’s SIMS information management system to ensure accurate recording and organisation of student data.
  • Coordinate the production of data for reporting on GCSE results, assessment, progress, and behaviour using SIMS, SISRA, and other external databases.
  • Administer the school’s examination system in accordance with JCQ regulations.
  • Liaise with SENCo, Access Arrangement Coordinator, and heads of department to ensure examination requirements are met.
  • Ensure the security of examination question papers and scripts in line with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
  • Dispatch completed examination papers and NEA samples to appropriate examiners.
  • Produce and distribute examination timetables for students.
  • Import examination results into the school system and organise their distribution.
  • Provide examination data to the Local Authority and Diocese.
  • Issue exam certificates and assist with the planning of the Presentation Evening.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in managing SIMS or similar information management systems.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of GDPR legislation and data protection policies.
  • Understanding of JCQ exam regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders, including teachers, staff, and external bodies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Previous experience with examination administration.
  • Familiarity with SISRA and other external databases.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
