The Opportunity:
As an SEN Teacher - Maternity Cover, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs and helping them achieve their full potential. This is a fixed-term, full-time position covering maternity leave, offering a chance to contribute to a dynamic and inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and review high-quality lessons tailored to the individual learning needs of students
- Ensure students experience a personalized educational programme that develops their skills and abilities
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student progress
- Collaborate with internal and external support agencies to ensure comprehensive student care
- Contribute to the school’s self-evaluation process and continuous improvement
- Take an active role in the day-to-day operations and culture of the school
- Support colleagues in developing teaching practices where appropriate
- Promote the school’s mission of preparing students for independent living and future employment
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified to teach in the UK
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with students with communication needs, severe, profound, or complex learning difficulties
- Ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues, and families
Preferred
- Experience in special educational needs settings
- Knowledge of vocational education and work experience placements
- Understanding of the Preparation for Adulthood outcomes
