The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and contributing to a positive learning environment. This role involves working closely with teachers, students, and families to help pupils thrive academically and emotionally. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in a 1:1 or group setting to enhance learning outcomes.
- Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and managing classroom activities.
- Accompany students on educational trips and ensure their safety and engagement.
- Help create and maintain learning resources and environments.
- Engage with families and external agencies to support students' educational and personal development.
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all learners.
- Support the identification and documentation of student progress and achievement.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of students, including those who are disengaged or facing barriers to learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Education to National Qualifications Framework Level 3 standard (e.g., NVQ 3, A/AS levels or equivalent).
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.
- Proficiency in using relevant technology and equipment.
- A valid driving license, a vehicle, and business insurance.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Experience in mentoring or supporting vulnerable learners.
- Experience in safeguarding and child protection.
- Experience in creating and delivering learning resources.
- Experience in working with families and external agencies.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary with payment on the 15th of each month.
- Full-time equivalent (FTE) hours based on 36 hours per week, with 35 hours of actual work required.
