The Opportunity:

As SENCo, you will lead and develop inclusive practice, ensuring that all pupils with additional needs receive the support required to thrive. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and contribute to the school’s mission of excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop inclusive practice across the school, ensuring all pupils with additional needs receive the support required to thrive.
  • Coordinate and manage the school’s special educational needs provision, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Formulate, implement, and review SEN Support Plans in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on inclusive teaching approaches and support strategies.
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
  • Manage and lead support staff to deliver high-quality SEND provision.
  • Write strong applications for additional support to the Local Authority and other agencies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous professional development and collaboration across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for SEN Coordination.
  • Experience in supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs across primary age groups.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching approaches.
  • Ability to formulate, implement, and review SEN Support Plans effectively.
  • Experience working with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
