The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children with a range of special educational needs, helping them to reach their full potential. This role offers a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can develop your skills and grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of bespoke interventions tailored to the needs of individual pupils.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent and inclusive approach to learning.
  • Assist in managing and supporting pupils with a wide range of needs, including those with complex behavioural challenges.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages all pupils to participate and succeed.
  • Attend and contribute to training sessions and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interventions.
  • Collaborate with parents and other professionals to support the holistic development of pupils.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of resources and equipment in the classroom and resource provision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised SEN Teaching Assistant qualification or certification.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • The ability to plan and deliver targeted interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage and support pupils with a range of behaviours and needs.
  • A commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a school or educational setting.
  • Experience with the Habs Institute of Professional Learning or similar professional development frameworks.
  • A willingness to pursue further qualifications, such as becoming a qualified Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience in supporting children with a range of learning and developmental needs.
