The Opportunity:
As Head of Junior School, you will lead and manage the Junior School, ensuring that students receive the highest standard of care and education. This role is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about shaping young minds and driving excellence in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Junior School, from Reception to Year 6, ensuring a consistent and high-quality educational experience.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Junior School that aligns with the school’s core values and mission.
- Promote excellence in teaching and learning across the phase, supporting staff development and professional growth.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement among staff and students.
- Ensure a strong focus on student achievement, personal development, and well-being.
- Oversee the management of staff, including conducting performance reviews and setting clear targets for development.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues to maintain a cohesive and supportive school community.
- Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives and policies that enhance the educational experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership and management experience in an educational setting, ideally at middle or senior management level.
- Strong experience in teaching and leading in a primary school environment.
- In-depth knowledge of child development, the primary curriculum, and effective classroom practice.
- Ability to manage change, drive improvement, and lead teams towards shared goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values, with a child-centred philosophy at the heart of your approach.
Preferred
- Experience in strategic planning and school development.
- Familiarity with current educational initiatives and pedagogical approaches.
- Experience in conducting staff reviews and setting performance targets.
- Strong understanding of pastoral care and student well-being.
