Summary:

SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant role with a focus on supporting SEND students.

The Opportunity:

As an SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will lead the SEN provision and deliver high-quality support to SEND students, helping them make good progress in their learning. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and to grow professionally within a supportive and development-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective support for SEN students in-class and within the provision.
  • Deliver high-quality support to help students make good progress in their learning.
  • Support and lead SEN Teaching Assistants in addressing the specific needs of each child.
  • Prepare lessons and resources tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Lead review meetings to plan and develop more effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Support the SENCo with requesting EHCPs and other necessary supports.
  • Plan and deliver bespoke interventions to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Manage and support students in managing their behaviours effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or certification.
  • Experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality support to students.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering interventions or planning bespoke support strategies.
  • Knowledge of educational frameworks and support systems for SEND students.
  • Experience in working towards becoming a Teaching Assistant or qualified teacher.
  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teaching assistants.

  • 35 hours per week on a 44-week (term-time only) contract.
