The Opportunity:

As a SENCO, you will strategically lead the school's SEND provision at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 during a time of national SEND reform. This role is pivotal in shaping the Inclusion Hub and promoting adaptive teaching practices across the school, ensuring all students, including those with SEND, have a positive and enriching learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the school’s SEND provision across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Support the development of the Inclusion Hub and ensure it aligns with the school’s vision for inclusive practice.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to implement and improve adaptive teaching strategies in every classroom.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider community.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on inclusive teaching and student well-being.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure all students, including those with SEND, have access to a supportive and challenging learning environment.
  • Promote a culture of kindness, gratitude, and inclusion across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recent, relevant professional leadership development.
  • Proven ability to develop and sustain successful relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Strong leadership, motivation, and inspiration skills to support student achievement.
  • Experience in SEND provision and inclusive education practices.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and managing an Inclusion Hub or similar initiative.
  • Knowledge of current SEND policies and reforms.
  • Experience with adaptive teaching strategies and classroom support.
  • Background in working within a dynamic, supportive school environment.
