Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the English curriculum, including up to A Level.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the school’s broader curriculum and co-curricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified teacher status or equivalent.
  • Experience in teaching English at secondary level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience with A Level English.
  • Familiarity with teaching in a boarding school environment.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Knowledge of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • Experience with digital learning tools and resources.
