The Opportunity:

As a SENCO Secondary, you will play a pivotal role in leading inclusive teaching practices and supporting students with additional learning needs. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success and school improvement within a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate provision for students with additional learning needs across the secondary school
  • Support and develop inclusive teaching practices in collaboration with staff and leadership
  • Oversee and monitor the effectiveness of interventions and support strategies
  • Work closely with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure student progress and well-being
  • Contribute to school improvement initiatives and safeguarding protocols
  • Provide professional guidance and training to staff on inclusive education and SEND strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and interventions
  • Stay updated on best practices in special educational needs and inclusion

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • SENCO qualification or relevant SEND certification
  • Experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary setting, preferably within a British curriculum school
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive practices and intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

  • Familiarity with KHDA frameworks and UAE education standards
  • Experience in curriculum development and school improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor staff in inclusive education
