The Opportunity:

As a SEND Class Teacher Year 1 - Lower KS2, you will lead a specialist provision class for pupils with complex needs. This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop a growing provision while making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a specialist SEND class for pupils with a range of complex needs
  • Plan and deliver a highly adaptive curriculum tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
  • Set, track and review personalised targets to ensure progress for all learners
  • Work closely with the SENCO and wider inclusion team to ensure high-quality provision
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants to support learning, engagement and wellbeing
  • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs and support personalised learning pathways
  • Promote inclusion and improve outcomes for vulnerable learners through innovative and creative teaching

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with complex needs, including Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Strong understanding of SEND practice, including EHCPs and personalised learning pathways
  • Excellent behaviour management skills rooted in understanding and relationship-building
  • Commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
  • Ability to work as part of a team and value collaborative practice

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Ongoing professional development in SEND practice
  • Experience in shaping and developing specialist provision
