The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process complex accounting transactions and year-end adjustments.
  • Support the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, parents, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Contribute to budgetary planning and forecasting across the school group.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key departments and external partners.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial processes and systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in managing complex financial processes and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational institution with diverse operations.
  • Familiarity with educational finance and budgeting processes.
  • Experience with financial software such as Sage or QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge of UK financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
