The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Specialist Resource Provision team. This role offers the opportunity to support students with SEND and make a meaningful impact on their learning journey. Ideal for those with experience in managing challenging behaviour and a passion for working with young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals and groups of students with SEND in a specialist resource provision setting.
- Deliver targeted interventions to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individual education plans.
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.
- Promote inclusion and ensure all students feel valued and supported.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers to update them on student progress.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the overall success of the SEND department through collaboration and teamwork.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with SEND.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of young people.
- Previous experience in a similar support role.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Familiarity with educational frameworks such as SEN Code of Practice.
