The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within a dynamic and inclusive school. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with identified needs in classes, small groups, and one-to-one settings.
- Work closely with the school’s SENDCo and other teaching staff to deliver tailored learning support.
- Promote the welfare and academic progress of students with a wide range of SEND needs.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities that meet individual student requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a consistent approach to student support.
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
- Contribute to the development of inclusive learning environments that encourage student engagement and success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant in upper Key Stage 2 or secondary education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a variety of learning support scenarios.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A willingness to support students with a wide range of SEND needs.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting with a focus on special educational needs.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and individual learning plans.
- Experience with assistive technology or specialist support tools.
- Previous experience in a large, multi-campus school environment.
